Chris Dehring named new CEO of Cricket West Indies

Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced a new chief executive, Chris Dehring. Dehring used to run the 2007 ODI World Cup in the Caribbean, being the major person in charge there as the managing director and CEO. Now, he's taking over the role left by Johnny Grave, since Johnny exited in October.

CWI shared that Dehring was chosen from a highly competitive pool of over 50 applicants from Europe, Australia, Afghanistan, India, and the Caribbean.

CWI President Kishore Shallow said, "Chris Dehring is primarily focused on pushing us toward our goals. Dehring likes West Indies cricket a lot and he is very smart at thinking of new things, planning strategies, and leading businesses. With his coming back, it's the beginning of a wonderfully new part for us as we really want to become the best at world cricket again."

Chris Dehring knows a lot regarding financial matters, sports management, media, and speaking on the phone or the internet. Dehring made sure ten great big sports stadiums were built in the West Indies when the 2007 World Cup was happening in the West Indies.

Dehring started SportsMax, which is of significant consequence for sports TV in the Caribbean. And he didn't do it alone he helped start an investment bank in Jamaica called Dehring. On top of all that, he had an important job at Cable & Wireless.

Dehring said that being part of West Indies Cricket has always been vitally important to him. He thinks it really brings people together and gives everyone in the area something to be proud of. He's extremely proud to come back to an organization that matters a lot to the people around there.

Dehring is wholeheartedly focused on collaborating with the CWI members and everyone involved to help talented players shine, push for new ideas, and make people feel happy about West Indies Cricket not only at home but everywhere.

Dehring will officially take on his new role starting February 1, 2025.
