Kane Williamson Makes History as the First Batter to Score Five Consecutive Hundreds at a Venue

On Monday, Kane Williamson hit an exceptionally wonderful century in the third Test against England. This wasn't simply any century, it was his 33rd in Test cricket, but what made it stand out was that it was his seventh time doing so at Hamilton Seddon Park. Even more impressive, it's his fifth century in a row at this location, setting a record. Williamson is the first player to ever hit five consecutive centuries at the same ground.

Williamson hit his second innings century for New Zealand and reached 33 Test hundreds, this milestone pushed him into a club of top players. By doing so, he moved past 14 other players who had obtained fewer centuries at the same venue.

Among those players are some major names, such as Don Bradman, who made his centuries in Melbourne and Leeds. Williamson also broke another record, becoming the sixth batter to obtain more than 1,000 runs this year.

Williamson hit his 33rd century in only 186 innings, putting him right behind Ricky Ponting and Sachin Tendulkar as the third-fastest player to achieve this. Despite missing New Zealand's tour to India, his success kept on rolling.

He made history as the first Kiwi batter to obtain more than 5,000 Test runs in New Zealand, with a good average of 66.77. No other batsman has ever averaged that high with over 5,000 Test runs in one country.

Williamson got out after making 156 runs, which was his fourth time making more than 150 at Seddon Park. Now, he is equal to cricket legends Len Hutton, Joe Root, and Bradman because they all have four major scores of over 150 runs at one location. But, Mahela Jayawardena and Kumar Sangakkara are still ahead. Jayawardena has hit more than 150 runs six times at a single venue, and Sangakkara has done it five times. Williamson is just behind them in the record books now.
