Bangladesh Revives T20 Series with a Convincing 83-Run Victory Over Sri Lanka

In a thrilling turn of events, Bangladesh managed to level the three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka at 1-1, with a remarkable 83-run win in the second T20 match. The Bangladeshi bowlers were in top form, with all five of them claiming wickets. Legspinner Rishad Hossain (3-18) played a pivotal role, finishing the match by stumping Sri Lanka's No. 10 batter, Binura Fernando.

The match took place in Dambulla, Sri Lanka, where the home team was skittled out for just 94 runs in 15.2 overs. Bangladesh's captain, Litton Das, was in fine form, scoring a 50-ball 76, his first T20 half-century in 13 games. His innings propelled Bangladesh to a competitive total of 177-7 in their allotted 20 overs. Sri Lanka had won the toss and opted to bowl first.

In-form batter Kusal Mendis was run out early in Sri Lanka's chase, and the hosts quickly found themselves in trouble at 30-4 within the powerplay. Fast bowler Shoriful Islam (2-12) was particularly effective, one of the three changes made by Bangladesh after their loss in the opening game.

Opening batters Pathum Nissanka (32) and Dasun Shanaka (20) were the only Sri Lankan players to reach double figures before their innings was wrapped up with over four overs to spare. Nissanka was also stumped by Das off Hossain, ending a 41-ball partnership for the fifth wicket. In the same 11th over, Hossain caught and bowled Chamika Karunaratne (0) to leave Sri Lanka reeling at 71-6.

Dasun Shanaka was caught at deep mid-wicket in the 12th over, bowled by off-spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Bangladesh then quickly mopped up the remaining Sri Lankan batters. Captain Litton Das followed up his half-century with two stumpings and two catches, showcasing his all-round skills.

Sri Lanka had previously won the T20 opener by seven wickets with an over to spare. The final T20 match of the series is scheduled for Wednesday in Colombo. It's worth noting that Sri Lanka had earlier won a three-match ODI series against Bangladesh 2-1 and a two-match Test series 1-0.
