In their first-ever home grand final at Ninja Stadium, Hobart Hurricanes triumphed over Sydney Thunder by seven wickets with 35 balls remaining, securing their maiden BBL title. Mitchell Owen was named Player of the Match after smashing 108 off 42 balls, the joint-fastest century in BBL history. Owen also finished as the tournament’s leading run-scorer with 452 runs at a staggering strike rate of 203.60, while Jason Behrendorff claimed the most wickets with 17 scalps at an average of 17.41.
