Ben McDermott

Ben McDermott is an Australian right-handed batter and part-time wicketkeeper, born on December 12, 1994, in Brisbane. The son of former Australian fast bowler Craig McDermott and brother of Alister McDermott, he is known for his explosive power in white-ball cricket and has represented Australia in T20 and ODI formats. He plays domestically for Tasmania after returning from Queensland, and has also played for the Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League.

  • BBL Records: McDermott holds the record for the most centuries by a single player in the history of the Big Bash League (BBL), with three to his name. He is also the first player to have scored back-to-back centuries in the BBL (in December 2021).

  • ODI Century: He scored his maiden and only ODI century in March 2022, a fluent 104 runs against Pakistan in Lahore.

  • BBL Player of the Season: He was named the player of the season for BBL|11.
