Zimbabwe Announce 15-Man Squad for T20 World Cup 2026, Sikandar Raza to Lead, Taylor Included
Zimbabwe has selected Graeme Cremer, who has returned to international cricket as a former captain and seven years after retiring, in the squad of 15 players for the T20 World Cup in 2026. The 39-year-old leg spinner made a return to the team during the tri-series against Pakistan, where he took 2 wickets and gave up 44 runs in 7 overs in 2 matches.

Blessing Muzarabani, who was out due to a back injury, is also back in the team. Unfortunately, the left-arm seamer Newman Nyamhuri is the only one from that tri-series not included in this squad.
Clive Madande, who came into the squad for Sean Williams for the Africa regional qualifier, has remained in the side. He was the highest run scorer in the Zimbabwe domestic tournament with 152 runs over 4 matches at an average of 76.00 and a strike rate of 138.18.
The squad will be led by Sikandar Raza. Other notable players include Test and ODI Captain Richard Ngarava and veteran wicketkeeper/batter Brendan Taylor. Like Cremer, Taylor returned to international cricket earlier this year. He played 13 T20 internationals since returning and scored 251 runs at an average of 22.81 and a strike-rate of 144.25. Of those runs, 123 were scored in one innings against Botswana. If the innings against Botswana is excluded, Taylor's average and strike-rate drop to 12.80 and 106.66, respectively.
The seam-bowling attack will be led by Muzarabani and Ngarava. Wellington Masakadza joins Cremer as the only other experienced name in Zimbabwe's spin-bowling department. Zimbabwe has been placed in Group B along with Australia, Sri Lanka, Ireland, and Oman. Their first match will be played on 9 February against Oman, and they will play all their group matches in Sri Lanka.
