WPL 2026: Mumbai Indians Retained & Released Players Ahead of Mega Auction

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) has set rules for keeping players before the 2026 big auction. Each team can keep up to five players, with limits on how many Indian and overseas players they can retain.
The Mumbai Indians team in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) kept five players before the auction on November 27 in New Delhi. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur stays with the team, along with Nat Sciver-Brunt, Amanjot Kaur, Hayley Matthews, and uncapped player G. Kamalini.
“If a franchise opts to retain five players, Rs. 9.25 crore would be deducted from its purse, while for four, the deduction would be Rs. 8.75 crore; for three, it would be Rs. 7.75 crore; for two, Rs. 6 crore; and for one, Rs. 3.5 crore,” the release stated.
