Why was Pakistan Shaheens vs England Lions game cancelled?

Pakistan Shaheens and England Lions were due to play the second 50-over game of the white-ball series in Abu Dhabi on Sunday. However, the game was cancelled in the wake of escalating situation in the region following United States’ attack on Iran. The two teams are unable to leave the country with the airspace closed following the escalation. 

Women team’s training camp postponed

While there is no official word about the remaining games of the five-match series, England have postponed their Women team’s tour to Abu Dhabi for a training camp next week. 

An ECB spokesperson said: "The safety and security of our teams and staff is our top priority. We are in contact with security experts and the government in relation to current events in West Asia, and are following official advice.

"The second 50-over game between England Men's Lions and Pakistan Shaheens in Abu Dhabi will no longer go ahead, and we are delaying the departure of England Women for their proposed trip to Abu Dhabi next week.

Men’s team cleared to travel to Mumbai

England senior men’s team, who is in India for the T20 World Cup, is given a go-ahead to travel to Mumbai where they will face the host India in the second semi-final. 

"We will continue to monitor and assess the situation and official advice in relation to the future of these trips. England Men will travel to Mumbai for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup semi-final as planned."
