On the other hand, the Pakistan national cricket team has narrowly missed a place in the semi-finals of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026.

The Pakistan cricket team has managed to win the match against the Sri Lanka national cricket team by five runs at the Pallekele cricket ground in the ongoing tournament. However, the two points were not enough to help the cricket team move ahead of the New Zealand cricket team in the points table based on the Net Run Rate to earn a place in the semi-finals along with the England cricket team.
