Watch:MCG Hero Nitish Kumar Reddy Overcome with Emotion During Unexpected Family Reunion

Watch:MCG Hero Nitish Kumar Reddy Overcome with Emotion During Unexpected Family ReunionOn Saturday, in the Boxing Day Test, when India was having a hard time, Nitish Kumar Reddy stepped in and changed the game. Nitish scored his first Test century against Australia, making everyone sit up and take notice. By the end of Day 3 in the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, he was still standing not out at 105 runs.

Nitish really showed what he could do when things were intense. He hit the ball 171 times scoring through 10 boundaries and also hit the ball over the fence for six runs. His amazing batting skills came through with a century that was important. It happened exactly when India needed someone brave, giving them a really big help.

When Nitish stepped up, India was in a very difficult situation, their score was only 221/7 because they lost Rishabh Pant (28) and Ravindra Jadeja (17) quite soon in history. Even though he's just 21, Nitish stayed calm and composed. Facing Australia's challenging bowlers, he was extremely calm and tough.

Mutayala Reddy, Nitish's dad quit his solid job at Hindustan Zinc in 2016 because he wanted to put all his energy into helping his child follow his dream of playing cricket. This choice meant they had to deal with spending more than they earned, a large amount of nights without sleep and Giving up a lot of personal belongings. But Mutayala never stopped believing in his son.

In a video from the BCCI, Nitish remembered the tough time when he noticed his dad become emotional one time because they were really struggling with money. It affected him strongly. Seeing his dad like that made him understand he needed to become serious about cricket, and it wasn't only about him now. He mentioned, Dad quit his job to support me. He's never forgotten the time he gave his dad his first cricket jersey and how happy it made him; that became his reason to continue.

In the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Nitish has been mastering it with his batting. Even before doing very well at the MCG, he was scoring runs with scores like 41, a solid 38 not out, 42, and 16 in his last five times to bat; the century he obtained is just another part of his amazing streak in the series.

With India still trailing by 116 runs, Nitish role will remain crucial as he resumes batting with Mohammed Siraj on Day 4.
