Virat Kohli Moves Up, Rohit Sharma Moves Down in Latest ICC ODI Rankings; Omarzai Becomes Top-Ranked All-Rounder

Virat Kohli Moves Up, Rohit Sharma Moves Down in Latest ICC ODI Rankings; Omarzai Becomes Top-Ranked All-RounderWith some brilliant performances with the bat in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Virat Kohli of India has climbed up one position in the latest ICC ODI batting rankings. India qualified for the final after beating Australia in the first semi-final of the tournament, which took place in Dubai on March 4. He was awarded the Player of the Match in that game at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, while making 84 runs from 98 balls with 5 boundaries.

Kohli is currently the tournament’s third-highest run-scorer, with 217 runs in four innings at an average of 72.33 and a strike rate of 83.14. He reclaimed his place in the top five after scoring an unbeaten 100 against Mohammad Rizwan's Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma slipped two spots down to No.5 in the rankings. Henrich Klaasen climbed to No.3, while Shubman Gill established a big lead as the No.1 ranked ODI batter over the second-placed Babar Azam. Shreyas Iyer also moved up one spot to No.8 in the ODI rankings.

Matt Henry of New Zealand has climbed to third place in the bowling rankings after taking five wickets against India in Dubai. Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami jumped three spots to No. 11 after picking up eight wickets in four matches, which included a five-wicket haul against Bangladesh.

Axar Patel showcased his all-round abilities by leaping 17 places to No. 13 in the ICC ODI all-rounders rankings. In the Champions Trophy, Axar scored 80 runs in four matches at an average of 26.66 and claimed five wickets at an economy rate of 4.51. Afghanistan's Azmatullah Omarzai is one of the emerging all-rounders of the cricketing world. He has been going great since he was named the ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year in 2024, going above and beyond to be crowned the greatest all-rounder in the world in the 50-over format by beating Mohammad Nabi.
