Virat Kohli IPL Retirement: After waiting 18 long years, Virat Kohli has finally lifted the IPL trophy. He gave everything to the team over the years, runs, passion, and leadership, but the title always slipped away. That changed in IPL 2025. RCB played steady, solid cricket all season and made it to the final for the fourth time. On the big night, they held their nerve and beat Punjab Kings by six runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium to win their first-ever IPL title.

Virat Kohli IPL Retirement: "There Is An End Date"

After the match, Kohli spoke honestly about his future and hinted that retirement might not be too far away. He said that when that day comes, he wants to be able to look back at his career with pride. At 36, he knows how important it is to stay focused on the present. That’s why he keeps working hard and always tries to get better at what he does.

“Well, I have an opportunity to play this game for not many years. So there is an end date to our career, as you know. And by the time that I hang up my boots, I want to sit at home and say I gave it everything I had. So I look for ways to improve,” Kohli said after the match.

Kohli on Loyalty: "My Heart and Soul Belong to Bangalore"

"Well, it's right up there, if I have to be honest. As I said, I've given everything that I had for the last 18 years. I've stayed loyal to this team, no matter what. I've had moments where I thought otherwise, but I stuck to this team. I stood behind them, they stood behind me," K.ohli said 

"And I always dreamt of winning it with them. And this is far more special than winning it with anyone else because my heart is with Bangalore, my soul is with Bangalore. And as I said, this is the team I'm going to play for till the last day that I play the IPL. So this one is absolutely right up there," he added.
