Vitality Blast 2026: Hasan Ali impresses with the bat to take Yorkshire home

Hasan Ali channelled his inner batting maestro as he stitched an impressive match-winning partnership with Andrew Tye. Representing Yorkshire in the Vitality Blast, Hasan scored 31 off 12 balls, smashing three sixes and two fours against Derbyshire.

Hasan, Tye help Yorkshire to win

It was the pacer’s third-highest score in T20 cricket, with his top two scores coming in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) previously.

Hasan walked out to bat in the 16th over with Yorkshire struggling at 139-8 in pursuit of 195 after they lost a few quick wickets. However, his partnership with Tye, who scored 32 off 13 deliveries, helped the side close the deficit quickly as Yorkshire won the game in the final over with four balls to spare.

Hasan fittingly scored the winning runs, helping the team secure two wins in as many matches.

Hasan takes Akif Javed on

During his innings, Hasan struck two sixes off fellow Pakistani Akif Javed, who endured a difficult outing for Derbyshire, conceding 39 runs for one wicket. Akif, playing his second game of the competition, had been economical through his first three overs before Hasan’s assault in the death overs shifted the momentum. He gave 15 runs in his final overs, which ruined his numbers.

With the ball, Hasan drew the first blood for Yorkshire by dismissing Derbyshire captain Aneurin Donald in his second over. He finished with figures of 1-37 from four overs.
