South Africa Announce Squad for India Test Series 2025

Just three weeks before the India vs South Africa Test series starts, South Africa have named their team with only a few changes from the recent Pakistan series. Regular captain Temba Bavuma is back in the squad, while Prenelan Subrayen and David Beginham have been left out.

The Test series will begin on November 14 in Kolkata, and the second match will take place a week later in Guwahati. South Africa showed strong fight against Pakistan, coming back to draw the series 1-1 after losing the first match. For the upcoming games in India, the team looks well-prepared, especially with their two spinners, Keshav Maharaj and Simon Harmer.

Simon Harmer has been in top form, recently taking his 1000th first-class wicket. In 12 matches, he has picked up 52 wickets at an average of 26 and could be a big threat to India. South Africa’s batting has also looked good. Tony de Zorzi scored a fifty and a century against Pakistan, while Ryan Rickelton also made useful runs. All-rounder Senuran Muthusamy showed good fight lower down the order with a half-century. Coach Shukri Conrad said he wanted to keep the same core group from the Pakistan series for this tour.

"We've kept the bulk of the squad that competed in the two-match series against Pakistan. Those players showed real character and fought hard to come from behind and draw that series. "We are anticipating a similar challenge in India, and many of the players who stood up in those conditions will once again be key for us." Conrad said.
