Talks have already been circulating that the Multan team will be rejoining the PSL, and this has been confirmed by the CEO, Salman Naseer, who announced that good news is coming to the fans of the 2021 PSL champions, which led to the team announcing that Gohar Shah’s first decision as the new CEO is to apply to the PCB to change the name of the team, and he has agreed to pay a one-time fee to change the name, which will now be Multan Sultans.

Gohar also revealed that he is now the owner of 98 percent of the team through his company CD Ventures, which is the new ownership group of the team. Gohar also revealed that it is important for him that his region of Multan and South Punjab are represented in the league.
“It is important for me that my region, Multan and South Punjab, is represented. I want Multan to stay in PSL for many years,” Gohar said. The PSL 2026 tournament will commence with a match between Lahore Qalandars and Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen at the Gaddafi Stadium. Earlier, the PSL chief asked fans to wait patiently before making a big announcement regarding the return of the team.
