SA20: What Has Happened So Far: Points Table, Highest Run Scorer, Highest Wicket Taker and more
SA20, South Africa’s own T20 tournament, ongoing for the last 15 days, and a lot has happened during the first phase of the tournament. The tournament is played among six teams. This article will discuss the organizing team, points table, and players who have scored the most runs and taken the most wickets so far in the tournament.

Top performing teams

Paarl Royals is the top performing team in the current season, winning 5 out of 6 matches played, only losing one match, while Sunrisers Eastern Cape has won 4 out of seven matches played. SEC has both the previous seasons of SA20 and will be looking to win this consecutive season.

Points Table

In the points table, you will see the difference in points as compared to the number of matches the teams had won, the reason behind this point award system of the SA20 league is different from other T20 Leagues around the world. Here, every team can get up to 5 points on winning a match, the winning team will receive 4 points on winning the match, and it can also get one bonus point if the winning team achieve a net run rate of 1.25 points higher than the opponent team, while matches which ended up with no result will get awarded 2 points for each team.

Currently, in the points table, Paarl Royals is at the top with 20 points, winning 5 out of six matches, while Sunrisers Eastern Cape is at second position with 19 points, winning four out of 7 matches. In the third position, MI Cape Town has 16 points, winning 3 out of the six matches as one match was abandoned.

In fourth place, the Joburg Super Kings have 10 points, having won only 2 out of 6 matches. In fifth place, the Pretoria Capitals have won only 1 out of 6 matches, with two matches abandoned, and they currently hold 9 points. The Durban Supergiants are in last place, having won only 1 out of 7 matches and currently holding 8 points.

Top Run scorer

Luhan-dre Pretorious is currently the highest run scorer in the SA20 2025 season, with 258 runs in six matches. Not far behind, Aiden Markaram holds the second position with 243 runs in seven games.
