Rajasthan Royals CEO Jake Lush McCrum Resigns Following Dravid’s Departure

The Rajasthan Royals (RR), winners of the first IPL in 2008, seem to be facing a rough patch off the field. After head coach Rahul Dravid’s exit at the end of the 2025 season, it has now come to light that the team’s CEO, Jake Lush McCrum, has also resigned, according to a report on Tuesday from a popular media outlet.
Jake Lush McCrum, originally from England, has been closely involved with the Rajasthan Royals for many years, taking up different responsibilities before eventually becoming the CEO of the 2008 IPL champions.
As per Cricbuzz, he has personally informed other franchises and colleagues in the cricket industry about his decision to step down from the Jaipur-based team. Apart from this, Dravid had rejoined the RR in 2025 and recently stepped down from the head coaching role. He came to coaching duties in the cash-rich league after completing his tenure as India’s head coach following the T20 World Cup.
His association with the franchise also stretches back over a decade, having been RR’s mentor in 2014 and 2015. As a player and captain, Dravid represented the RR between 2011 and 2013, featuring in 46 matches and scoring 1,276 runs at an average of 29.00, including seven half-centuries as well. Adding to the uncertainty, questions are also being raised about the future of captain Sanju Samson.
After Dravid’s Exit, Royals CEO Jake Lush McCrum Also Steps Down
Some reports claimed that Rajasthan Royals had talks with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) over a possible trade, but nothing came through. Samson has openly said he wants to stay with the team that gave him his first big chance, but rumours about internal issues in the camp still remain. Insiders hint the Royals’ dressing room is currently split into three camps, with Riyan Parag, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Samson at the centre of debate for a leadership role ahead of the 2026 edition of the tournament.
Questions over the skipper's appointment going forward remain unresolved, with conflicting opinions within the franchise hierarchy about the captaincy. With Dravid and McCrum leaving, and doubts over their long-time captain, Rajasthan Royals are entering a big transition phase.
The team had a tough IPL 2025, finishing ninth with just four wins. Now, they’ll be eager to bounce back next season, push towards the finals, and fight for their second IPL trophy.
