R Ashwin Criticizes Indian Media for Not Giving Enough Recognition to 'Jackpot Jango' Ravindra Jadeja
The star Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been a key player for the Indian team. On this day, he debuted in international cricket and completed 16 years with Team India. He is performing very well in all three formats of the game with his excellent batting, amazing bowling, and sharp fielding.
Ravindra Jadeja has proved to be one of the most dependable cricketers in the country. Despite his consistent performance, the former Indian star off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin feels that Jadeja doesn't get the appreciation he truly deserves.
In the first ODI against England in Nagpur, Jadeja once again performed with a match-winning performance. Jadeja took three important wickets for just 26 runs in his nine overs spell, With his excellent spin bowling India restricted England for 248.

After the match, Ashwin praised his former teammate on his YouTube show Ash Ki Baat and he mentioned how Jadeja's contributions are often overlooked.
Ashwin said, “Our media fails to appreciate when a player does well. Whenever we lose, everyone becomes a villain. He dismissed Joe Root (in the 1st IND vs ENG ODI). Jadeja always goes under the radar. He is a ‘Jackpot Jango.’ He is +10 in the field, also bowls well, and bats in pressure situations as well. We don’t give Jadeja enough credit,”
Ashwin also said that Jadeja is a natural talent and the best left-arm all-rounder, adding that he is a more gifted cricketer than himself.
Ashwin said, "Jadeja is way more gifted than I ever can be. He is a born athlete. His major advantages lie in his physical fitness. He is naturally fit. Even at this age, he can cover the entire area from long on to deep square leg while standing at mid-wicket. I wouldn’t be surprised. And I will be more than happy for him."
Jadeja recently achieved a big milestone by taking 600 international wickets. He is now the fifth Indian bowler to reach this mark. His records include 323 wickets in Tests, 220 in ODIs, and 54 in T20Is making him one of the greatest all-rounders in Indian cricket history.
