"Wear Your Yellow Jerseys…": Healy Taps CSK Fans for Women’s World Cup

[ Poll: OypqRWLl ]

Australian women's team skipper Alyssa Healy made a quirky remark during the pre-World Cup press conference captains' meeting, while speaking about the support. She asked CSK fans to fill the stadium in large numbers while wearing the iconic yellow jersey. With just a few days left for the Women’s World Cup 2025 in India, Australia captain Alyssa Healy came up with a lighthearted comment during the captains’ meeting. Talking about crowd support, she joked that CSK fans should come to the stadium in their yellow Dhoni jerseys, it would look like they’re cheering for Australia too, since both teams wear the same colour.

Healy urges CSK fans to wear yellow shirts to cheer for Australia

Even though Australia don’t have any matches in Chennai’s Chepauk Stadium, Alyssa Healy knows that CSK fans often travel across the country to cheer for their team. She said it would be great if those fans could come and watch Australia’s games too, as having support from the Indian crowd would mean a lot.

“I’d really like to encourage the Indian fans to show up in their Chennai MS Dhoni shirts because they’re yellow. That would be great. Yeah, so show up in that, have some yellow in the crowd, that would be nice," Healy said at the captain’s day press meet.

Healy says World Cup will be tough despite Australia being favourites

As always, Australia are once again the favourites to win this World Cup, whether it’s the men’s or women’s team. With the kind of players they have, they can dominate any opponent on any day, no matter the conditions.

“I don’t think it gets any easier. I feel like you have labelled us favourites, so thanks for that. But I don’t necessarily think that’s the case. I think India in their home conditions are going to be really, really tough to beat, along with a couple of captains sitting alongside. So it doesn’t get any easier. I think this ODI World Cup is going to be one of the strongest ones that I have been a part of," she said.

For the Women’s World Cup, India and Sri Lanka, the co-hosts, will face each other in Guwahati on September 30. Australia will play their first match against New Zealand on October 1 in Indore.
