PCB postpones jersey launch amid uncertainty over T20 World Cup participation
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) postponed the launch of the team’s jersey for the 2026 T20 World Cup, which begins on February 7 in Sri Lanka and India. According to sources, the board had planned to reveal the team’s official jersey in a ceremony after the toss in the second T20I against Australia at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
However, the launch was postponed indefinitely due to what were described as ‘unavoidable circumstances’.
Pakistan keep all options open
The delay comes at a time when Pakistan’s participation in the T20 World Cup remains uncertain. PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi, after meeting the country’s Prime Minister, said that the final call will be made by February 2, Monday, and that the board is open to all options.
One of these options, reportedly, is to pull out of their game against India, set to be played on February 15, as a targeted protest.
Pakistan are scheduled to open the T20 World Cup against Netherlands on February 7 in Colombo. Unlike the other teams, they will play all their matches in Sri Lanka under the hybrid model agreed upon by both Pakistan and India last year.
