Oman's SWOT Analysis for Asia Cup 2025
This September promises to be special for Oman cricket. For the very first time, the team will feature in the Asia Cup, a milestone that reflects just how far they’ve progressed in the past few years. Drawn in Group A alongside India, Pakistan, and UAE, the road ahead looks daunting, but simply being part of the tournament is already a proud moment for the team and their fans.
The 17-man squad will be led by seasoned opener Jatinder Singh, the most experienced bat in the lineup. He’ll be supported by wicketkeeper-batsman Vinayak Shukla, as well as all-rounders Aamir Kaleem and Muhammad Nadeem, with left-arm spinner Muhammad Imran adding further depth.
Oman earned their ticket by finishing runners-up at the ACC Premier Cup 2024, and they arrive with confidence after winning the Asia T20 World Cup Qualifier 2023. In recent years, they’ve also become familiar faces at global ICC tournaments featuring in the 2016 and 2021 T20 World Cups and now qualifying for the 2024 edition. Being in the Asia Cup is the next big step for a rising associate nation.
