November ICC Players of the Month: Haris Rauf and Danni Wyatt-Hodge

November ICC Players of the Month: Haris Rauf and Danni Wyatt-Hodge

Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf and England batter Danni Wyatt-Hodge were honored as the ICC Players of the Month for November, announced on Wednesday, December 11. This marks the first time either player has received this prestigious honor.

Haris Rauf delivered a standout performance during Pakistan's historic ODI series win in Australia, their first since 2002. The pacer claimed ten wickets across three matches at an impressive average of 12 and an economy rate of 5, earning him the Player of the Series award and solidifying his key role in Pakistan's success.

Haris Rauf played very well in Pakistan's one-day series win in Australia, beginning with stats of 3/67 in the first game. He then got a great 5/29 in the second ODI, winning the Player of the Match title in Pakistan's strong nine-wicket win. In the final match, Rauf performed well again with 2/24 in 7 overs, getting his second Player of the Match award as Pakistan won the series 2-1.

Haris Rauf continued his impressive form with a standout performance of 4/22 in the second T20I against Australia, despite Pakistan's defeat. He also finished the month with figures of 2/34 in the third ODI against Zimbabwe. Thanks to his consistent and impactful performances, Rauf outshone fellow fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Marco Jansen to be named the ICC Player of the Month for November.

“It is an incredible honor to be named ICC Player of the Month, and I am truly humbled by this recognition. This achievement is not just mine but a testament to the collective efforts of my teammates and the unwavering support of our passionate fans. Wearing the Pakistan jersey is a privilege, and moments like these motivate me to work even harder and push my limits. I dedicate this award to everyone who has been part of my journey so far, and I look forward to contributing more to the success of Pakistan cricket," Haris Rauf expressed his gratitude after being named the ICC Player of the Month.

Wyatt Shines in England Women’s 3-0 Whitewash Over South Africa

Danni Wyatt acknowledges her half-century, England vs Pakistan, 3rd Women's T20I, Headingley, May 19, 2024

Danni Wyatt was instrumental for England Women in their 3-0 whitewash over South Africa Women. She contributed a match-winning knock of 78 off 45 balls, with 15 fours and a six, as England posted a strong total of 204/4 in the second T20I. In the third T20I, Wyatt's unbeaten 53* from 31 balls helped England to a comfortable chase of 125 in just 11.3 overs, ensuring that the series was sealed.

Her outstanding performances earned her the award, leaving behind Bangladesh's Sharmin Akhter and South Africa's Nadine de Klerk.

"I am thrilled and honored to receive this award. A huge thanks to my teammates and coaches who inspire me every day. Our T20I series against South Africa was fantastic, with brilliant team efforts across the board. Personally, it’s been rewarding to maintain consistency, and as a team, we aim to keep this momentum going as we prepare for the Ashes and another exciting year of cricket ahead," Wyatt said in a statement.
