New all-time Test attendance record set at the MCG

New all-time Test attendance record set at the MCGOver the five days of the fourth test match between Australia and India at the MCG, a large number of more than 350,700 fans came to watch, setting a new attendance record; this beats the old record of 350,534 fans from the year 1937.

Cricket Australia said that on the fifth day, from the beginning 51,371 fans showed up to watch, and they were waiting for even more people to join as the day went on. With this number, the 2024 MCG Boxing Day Test broke the record, because there were more fans than the legendary match in 1937, when Sir Donald Bradman led Australia against England, played over six days; this new fan count is big important news since it means this year's game was more popular.

The numbers of people coming to the test are extremely impressive, with many people showing up 87,242 on the first day; then 85,147 on second day; 83,073 on third day; 43,867 on fourth day; and finally 51,371(still increasing). Normally, not many people show up on the fifth day compared to the fourth but now it was different. The Melbourne Cricket Club, The MCG organizers didn't expect more people to show up on the last day than the day before.

They had to open Yarra Park for parking because there were so many people, This is not something that is normally done, but then, they only kept one gate open, so several fans were trapped in a big line of cars and arrived late.

India saw some big numbers showing up for their games at the MCG in the 2022 T20 World Cup. We are looking at a massive turnout of 90,293 people for the India vs. Pakistan game and 82,507 showed up for when India went against Zimbabwe; these numbers are setting records everywhere.
