The Mumbai Indians (MI) kept five players before the WPL 2026 mega auction. Their costliest retention was Nat Sciver-Brunt for ₹3.50 crore, followed by captain Harmanpreet Kaur for ₹2.50 crore. The other players they kept were Hayley Matthews, Amanjot Kaur and G Kamalini.

At the auction, MI’s first choice was Amelia Kerr, as the defending champions tried to build another strong squad even though they had only ₹5.75 crore left.

MI spent ₹3 crore to bring back Amelia Kerr, who won the Purple Cap in their title-winning season. They also re-signed several former players like S Sajana, Shabnim Ismail, Sanskriti Gupta and Saika Ishaque. In total, MI used their full purse of ₹15 crore and picked 16 players.
