Mohsin Naqvi responds after BCCI warns of ICC action over Asia Cup trophy issue

Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has made it clear that they will not back off from the imminent ICC meeting, where the issue of the Asia Cup trophy will be discussed with India. Naqvi made it clear that Pakistan “will not leave the field open for India.”
Mohsin Naqvi Says Pakistan Won’t Step Back in Asia Cup Trophy Dispute with India
The matter began just after the Asia Cup 2025 final. India won the trophy but refused to take it from Mohsin Naqvi, who also holds a position as Interior Minister of Pakistan and is the head of the Asian Cricket Council. Angry at the situation, Naqvi took the trophy off the field and has yet to give it to the Indian team. Naqvi said, "Pakistan will not leave the field open for India on the Asia Cup trophy issue.
India may raise the matter, but Pakistan will fully join the ICC meeting in Dubai from November 4 to 7." According to reports, the BCCI will raise the matter at the ICC Board meeting to be headed by ex-BCCI Secretary Jay Shah. India will not only demand the trophy back but may even seek to have Naqvi removed as ACC Chairman.

India is said to have the support of Sri Lanka and Afghanistan cricket boards against Naqvi. For all the growing pressure, Naqvi looked unruffled and said Pakistan would indeed attend the ICC meeting-a first, perhaps, for such a regional dispute to be raised at an ICC meeting. With a meeting in Dubai looming, the continuing spat between Mohsin Naqvi and the BCCI is again exposing the long, strained cricketing rivalry between India and Pakistan.
