NZ vs WI T20I Series 2025: Kyle Jamieson, Ish Sodhi Return; Nathan Smith Earns Maiden Call-Up

Fast bowler Kyle Jamieson, who has struggled with injuries, and spinner Ish Sodhi have been included in New Zealand’s squad for the T20I series against the West Indies. The series will start in Auckland on Wednesday, November 4, 2025. Uncapped all-rounder Nathan Smith has been named in New Zealand’s 14-member squad and might make his T20I debut.
He was earlier part of the team that played against Sri Lanka last season. Kyle Jamieson returns after missing the ODI series against England due to injury, while Ish Sodhi is back for the five-match T20I series after playing against Australia in October.
The series will be important because coach Rob Walter will soon announce the first list of players for the T20 World Cup, which will be held in India and Sri Lanka early next year.

Fast bowler Matt Henry, who missed the last two ODIs against England due to a calf injury, will also skip the T20I series against West Indies to recover in time for the upcoming ODI and Test matches.
Former captain and star batter Kane Williamson won’t be part of the squad, as he announced his retirement from T20 international cricket earlier in the day.
“Kyle’s been back bowling this week and is tracking nicely for this series,” said Walter.
“Nathan’s made an impressive start to his international career in the Test and ODI formats, and we back him to do the job if he gets his T20 chance in this series. Ish is our most capped T20I player and it’s always great to be able to add his skills, energy and experience to the group,” added Walter.
T20I squad: Mitchell Santner (c), Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Devon Conway, Jacob Duffy, Zak Foulkes, Kyle Jamieson, Daryl Mitchell, Jimmy Neesham, Rachin Ravindra, Tim Robinson, Tim Seifert (wk), Nathan Smith, Ish Sodhi.
