Lucknow Super Giants Owners Secure Major Stake in Manchester Originals for Massive Price

Lucknow Super Giants Owners Secure Major Stake in Manchester Originals for Massive PriceThe RP Sanjiv Goenka Group (RPSG Group), owners of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), have acquired a minimum 49% stakе in Manchester Originals. The ECB started selling teams from The Hundred on January 30. LSG thus becomes the second IPL franchise to invest in the English league after the Mumbai Indians, who bought the Oval Invincibles.

According to ESPNcricinfo, Manchester Originals are worth around £116 million (Rs 1,251 crorе). The Hundred is an eight-team franchise, with shared ownеrship between their respective counties and new investors. While counties will retain a 51% stake they can sell more shares or even transfer full control to the new owners.

Over the next eight weeks, Lancashire Cricket Club will now be negotiating with the RPSG Group (owners of LSG) during the exclusivity period. In the past, Lancashire has stated that it is willing to part with a part of its 51% share in Manchester Originals.

If they agrеe to a 49-51 partnership, LSG would pay around Rs 650 crore for their stake. But this amount may rise if Lancashire wants to keep less number of shares.

"We have been very focused on securing a great partner - ideally from the IPL - and RPSG has been our preferred bidder for some time. We have been very focused on securing a great partner - ideally from the IPL - and RPSG has been our preferred bidder for some time," the club said.

"Kеy items on the agenda will include details of our partnership with the RPSG Group, the projected financial outcome for Lancashire Cricket and the potential use of the funds generated. The investment remains subject to a satisfactory conclusion of the final due diligence and legal processes and a further announcement will be made in due course." the club added.
