Lucknow Police Register FIR After Alleged UP T20 Match-Fixing Offer

The UP T20 League is once again in the news, not because of a match, but due to an attempt to fix a match. The manager of the Kashi Rudras team has claimed that he was offered 1 crore INR to fix a match. The allegation is that a bookie in Lucknow claimed that one of the players would play according to his instructions. In response to these allegations, an FIR has been registered at the Sushant Golf City police station in Lucknow.

Arjun Chauhan, the manager of the Kashi Rudras cricket team, was reportedly contacted on Instagram by someone who offered him 1 crore INR. The person claimed that a player from the team would follow his instructions during a match. During the police investigation, it was revealed that the money was to be transferred online in US dollars.

FIR Filed Over Alleged Match-Fixing Attempt in Lucknow

The FIR states that the person contacting the team manager, using the Instagram ID @vipss_nakrani, claimed to be a major gambler. The allegation is that the gambler tried to entice the manager by promising at least 50 lakh INR profit from a single match.

The Regional Integrity Manager of the Anti-Corruption Department, Hardayal Singh Champawat, registered the FIR at Sushant Golf City police station. Hardayal Singh is posted at the Anti-Corruption Unit, Central Region, Jaipur, and is currently stationed in Lucknow.

Currently, the case has been registered under sections BNS 49, 56, 61, 62, 112, 318, 319, the Public Gambling Act Section 3, and Information Technology Act Section 66 at the Sushant Golf City police station. The Lucknow police are now investigating these allegations to uncover the truth.
