KL Rahul and Jasprit Bumrah Shine for India in Third Test at Lord's
the second day of the third Test at Lord's, KL Rahul and Jasprit Bumrah emerged as the stars for India. Rahul, who remained unbeaten on 53, was ably supported by Rishabh Pant, who scored 19 despite an injury to his left index finger sustained while keeping wicket.

Jasprit Bumrah, who had been rested during the second Test that India won, returned with a vengeance, taking five wickets for 74 runs. His performance was a significant factor in England's innings. Bumrah had also dismissed Harry Brook through the gate on Thursday.
England's Joe Root, who had scored a century, followed it up with a record-setting catch. Jofra Archer made a triumphant return to Test cricket after a long absence due to injuries, taking a wicket in his first over.
In response to England's total of 387, India found themselves at 145 for 3, still 242 runs behind. Root, resuming on 99, needed just one ball to reach his triple century for the 37th time in Test matches. His innings of 104, along with late-innings half-centuries from Jamie Smith (51) and Brydon Carse (56), helped England post a competitive total.
Bumrah's name was added to the honors board at Lord's after his impressive haul. Archer, making his first Test appearance in over four years, created a buzz around the ground. He took a wicket with his third delivery, removing Yashasvi Jaiswal for 13, and generated speeds of up to 93 mph (150 kph), the fastest in this series.
Root's catch to dismiss Karun Nair for 40 was his 211th catch, breaking the Test record for an outfielder previously held by Rahul Dravid. India's captain, Shubman Gill, who had scored 430 runs in the second Test, was caught for 16 by wicketkeeper Jamie Smith off Chris Woakes.
Bumrah's spell ended Root's century. Root, who had been stranded on 99 overnight, admitted he could barely sleep, going through every possible shot and dismissal in his mind. His eighth hundred at Lord's, his favorite venue, and his 11th against India, moved him into fifth place on the all-time list of Test centuries.
Bumrah's burst sent England sliding to 271 for 7 within half an hour of the morning session. Carse and Smith, dropped on 5 by Rahul in the slips, counterattacked with an 84-run partnership to help England cross 350. Mohammed Siraj eventually removed Smith and Carse, while Bumrah clean-bowled Archer to complete his five-wicket haul.
Stokes, who had struggled with a groin injury on Thursday, looked fit again, bowling six overs and taking a wicket for 16 runs.
