KKR May Find New Home in Tripura for IPL 2025 Matches

The IPL landscape is buzzing as all ten franchises reveal their player retentions. The spotlight is on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who have made the bold decision to release key players Shreyas Iyer and Mitchell Starc, pivotal to their success in the previous season.
Reports suggest that KKR could play several matches at a new venue outside of Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The under-construction stadium in Narsingarh, Tripura, is emerging as a potential second home for the franchise, as Eden Gardens is set for renovations ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. IPL chairman Arun Dhumal has indicated that matches can be hosted in Tripura, provided the stadium is completed by February.
Eden Gardens is undergoing significant changes, with the Cricket Association of Bengal planning to add two new dressing rooms and enhance the venue's facilities. The construction is anticipated to conclude by December 2025, which means KKR may need to play some of their games away from their traditional home.
