Ajinkya Rahane Fined ₹12 Lakh for Slow Over Rate in KKR vs CSK IPL 2026 Clash

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Ajinkya Rahane has been fined because his team bowled their overs too slowly in the match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Tuesday. The three-time champions succumbed to yet another defeat as they lost by 32 runs to Ruturaj Gaikwad and co.

KKR are languishing at the bottom of the IPL 2026 points table and are yet to secure a win in the ongoing edition of the tournament.

As per a press release, Ajinkya Rahane broke the rules because his team bowled too slowly in the match against Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. He has been fined ₹12 lakh as this is the first time the team has made this mistake in IPL 2026.

“As this was his team’s first offence of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which pertains to minimum over-rate offences, Rahane was fined INR 12 lakhs,” the release stated.
