Bumrah's top 3 best bowling performances in Test matches
3. 6/45 vs England, Visakhapatnam (2024)
In February 2024, Jasprit Bumrah performed exceptionally well during the second test against England in Visakhapatnam. Thanks to Yashasvi Jaiswal scoring a double century, India put up a large total of 396 runs but England couldn't manage it in their first innings, getting bowled out for a 253 runs. Bumrah was the hero, getting 6 wickets for just 45 runs in 15.5 overs. When India was up to bat again, they increased the score, setting a target of 398 runs. Bumrah didn't stop there; he bagged 3 more wickets in the second innings, playing a key role in India's win by 106 runs.
2. 6/33 vs Australia, Melbourne (2018)
In the 2018/19 Test series in Australia, Bumrah really showed everyone what he's got during the Boxing Day Test at Melbourne. India put up a score of 443/7 and then declared. Australia tried to make a comeback but Bumrah just went straight through their batters. He took 6 wickets while giving up only 33 runs over 15.5 overs and got Australia out for just 151 runs. With India aiming for a target of 399 runs, Bumrah came back strong in the second innings and took another 3 wickets. With his help, India ended up winning by 137 runs. Taking 9 wickets in the match, Bumrah was obviously the player of the match.
1. 6/27 vs West Indies, Kingston (2019)
In 2019, during a match in Kingston against the West Indies, Jasprit Bumrah succeeded in the world of cricket. After India scored a solid 416 in their first time at bat, Bumrah came out and owned the game. Bumrah got 6 wickets and gave up only 27 runs in just over 12 overs. This wasn't just any day. Bumrah was doing extremely well, breaking down the West Indies' chances by earning a hat-trick, the first Indian to do that in Test cricket. The West Indies couldn't handle it and got all out for a 117 runs. Move ahead in time: India then puts up a massive 468 for the West Indies to chase in the second round at bat but they fell short and lost all their wickets for 210, making India win by 257 runs. That day, with figures like 6/27, Bumrah marked the best performance of his Test career.
