The most exciting Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) has successfully completed its first edition. The second edition also started on January 26. The ISPL is a T10 cricket league that is played with tennis balls in India. This league focuses on discovering and promoting young cricket talent.

The ISPL was inspired by the cricket talent hunt held in Dharavi, Mumbai, in 2021. The main aim of the ISPL league is to give a chance to underprivileged backgrounds to showcase their skills on a bigger stage. The first season of ISPL took place in March 2024 at Dadoji Kondadev Stadium, Maharashtra. The ISPL has attracted a 5 lakh live audience and reached 11 million views in total.

The former BCCI treasurer Ashish Shelar, Indian Cricket former star batter Sachin Tendulkar, and Amol Kale were the core committee members of this league. The former Indian team head coach Ravi Shastri is the league's chief mentor.

Special ISPL Rules and Features

1. Powerplay: First 2 overs: Only 2 fielders outside the 30-yard circle. Optional 1-over batting powerplay (overs 3-9).

2. Tip-Top Toss: Captains walk heel-to-toe; the one stepping on the other's foot wins.

3. 9 Street Runs: Shots landing in the audience score 9 runs.

4. 50-50 Over: The batting team declares a minimum score (≥16). Success: 150% runs added; Failure: 50% runs added.

5. Tape-Ball Over: 2 overs per inning must use a tape ball.

6. Playing XI: Must include players from 5 zones and 1 U-19 player.

7. Substitutions: 2 substitutes allowed; injured players replaced by unsold players from the same zone.
