Openers Abhishek Porel and KL Rahul led from the front with confident fifties, putting together a solid 69-run partnership as Delhi Capitals (DC) cruised to an eight-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Stadium. Chasing 160, Porel played a fluent knock of 51 off 36 balls, while Rahul stayed unbeaten on 57 off 42, guiding DC home in just 17.5 overs. Skipper Axar Patel chipped in with a quickfire 34* off 20 balls, finishing the chase alongside Rahul, who also hit a personal milestone by becoming the fastest Indian to reach 5,000 IPL runs.

With this win, Delhi Capitals held on to second place in the points table, having secured 12 points from eight matches. They’ve won six and lost two, with a net run rate of +0.657 second only to Gujarat Titans. GT also have 12 points from eight games but sit at the top thanks to a stronger net run rate of +1.104.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are in third place with 10 points from 8 matches and a good net run rate of +0.472. Right behind them are Punjab Kings, who also have 10 points but a lower net run rate of +0.177. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are in seventh place with 6 points from 8 games and a net run rate of +0.212. At the bottom of the table are Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Chennai Super Kings — all with 4 points each. Among these three, RR have the best net run rate at -0.633, followed by SRH (-1.217) and CSK (-1.392).
