IPL 2025 Points Table: Team Rankings After RCB vs SRH Match

IPL 2025 Points Table: Team Rankings After RCB vs SRH MatchThe 65th match of IPL 2025 featured a clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Friday, May 23, at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. RCB won the toss and chose to bowl first. In a surprise move, Jitesh Sharma led the side as captain since Rajat Patidar wasn’t fully fit to field and came in later as an impact player.

It wasn’t a great day for RCB’s bowlers, as they couldn’t make the most of winning the toss. While Romario Shepherd, Krunal Pandya, Suyash Sharma, Lungi Ngidi and Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up a wicket each, Sunrisers Hyderabad still managed to pile up a massive 231/6. Ishan Kishan was the star of the show smashing an unbeaten 94 off just 48 balls. He got good support from Abhishek Sharma (34), Aniket Verma (26) and Heinrich Klaasen (24), who all chipped in with handy contributions.

Chasing a big target, Virat Kohli (43) and Phil Salt (62) gave RCB a flying start and had the team well on track at 173/3. But once Rajat Patidar got out, things went downhill fast. RCB collapsed from 173/3 to 189 all out, falling short by 42 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad. For SRH, Pat Cummins led the charge with three wickets, while Eshan Malinga picked up two. Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harsh Dubey, Harshal Patel and Jaydev Unadkat also chipped in with a wicket each.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) hopes of finishing in the top two took a big hit after their tough loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). RCB started the match in second place, but the heavy defeat badly hurt their Net Run Rate and pushed them down to third. While this was SRH’s fifth win of the season, they stayed in eighth place with 11 points from 13 matches. The result has made things harder for RCB, who now need other teams’ results to go in their favor to keep their playoff hopes strong.
