Jamieson, who earlier played for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, was confirmed as Ferguson’s replacement by both the Punjab Kings team and the IPL in a press release on Thursday, May 15. Ferguson suffered a hamstring injury during the PBKS’ match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on April 12.
IPL 2025: Kusal Mendis to Replace Jos Buttler at Gujarat Titans
Gujarat Titans announced on Thursday that Sri Lankan batter Kusal Mendis will replace Jos Buttler after he leaves for international duty following the league stage of IPL 2025. Mendis will join the team on May 26, just before the Playoffs. This will be his first IPL appearance, and he was signed for ₹75 lakh by the 2022 champions.
Buttler has been in excellent form this season, scoring 500 runs in 11 matches at an average of 71 and a strike rate close to 164. He will return home to prepare for England’s upcoming ODI series against the West Indies, which begins on June 29.

Lucknow Super Giants fast bowler Mayank Yadav has been ruled out of the rest of IPL 2025. The 22-year-old missed the first half of the season with a back injury. He came back and played two matches, but the injury returned, and now he won’t be able to play again this season.
To fill his place, LSG has brought in New Zealand’s William O’Rourke as a replacement. The Kiwi pacer has been in great form in international cricket and has signed with the team for ₹3 crore.

England wicketkeeper-batter Jonny Bairstow is likely to join the Mumbai Indians as a replacement for his fellow countryman Will Jacks during the final stage of IPL 2025. As per a report by ESPN Cricinfo on Thursday (May 15), Bairstow, who has previously played in the IPL for Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings, is in advanced talks with the Mumbai Indians.
Will Jacks, who was bought by MI for ₹5.25 crore in the last IPL auction, has returned to India but is expected to miss the playoffs because of his international commitments. Jack's, a right-handed batter who also bowls off-spin, has played in 11 of MI’s 12 matches this season. He was named in England’s ODI squad for the upcoming home series against the West Indies on Tuesday (May 13), which overlaps with the IPL playoffs.
