The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League is now nears its completion after the amazing contest among the 10 teams over the last 2 months. The tournament is now in its final stage, with the playoff games ongoing. In this IPL 2025, Lucknow Super Giants were expected to perform well after some bold moves and key acquisitions at the auction table. However, the team, with its collective failures, disappointed everyone. Lucknow Super Giants finished the season in 7th position with six victories out of 14 matches played, losing eight matches. The team made a big purchase for the season, acquiring Rishabh Pant at a whopping price of 27 crore and making him captain. This decision did not work well for the team as Rishab disappointed with bat and with his captaincy both.

While the biggest blow the team suffered was in the bowling department—where it sustained multiple injuries, whether it is Mohsin Khan, Akashdeep, Avesh Khan, or Mayank Yadav—this has proven consequential for the team, leading to multiple vulnerabilities in their pace attack. The situation was even worse; if you look at their bowling attack, you couldn't find any international match winner who can lead the department.
