India vs England Test Series: Harshit Rana Added to Squad as Injury Cover
The five-match Test series between India and England is set to begin on June 20, with the first Test scheduled to take place at Headingley in Leeds. Just before the start of the series, a big update has come in regarding Team India. Indian bowling all-rounder Harshit Rana has been added to the squad and will now stay back in England.
Harshit Rana was spotted exiting Leeds Railway Station along with the rest of the Indian team. The team had travelled from London to Leeds. The first Test will begin at Headingley on June 20. Prior to the series, India played an intra-squad match against India A in Beckenham, which served as their only practice match. Players like KL Rahul, Karun Nair, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shardul Thakur, Dhruv Jurel, and Nitish Reddy had already travelled to England as part of the India A squad. All of them were part of the India A vs England Lions match.
Harshit Rana Was Not Initially Selected
Harshit Rana had made his debut for India during the tour of Australia last year, but he was not named in the initial 18-member squad for the England series. The 23-year-old pacer has so far played two Tests, five ODIs, and one T20I for India. A BCCI source told news agency PTI that Harshit has been added to the team as a cover and has already joined the squad in Leeds.
