India Gets a Day of Practice Against PM’s XI Despite Rain

In a little confidence booster, India won the practice match against the Australian Prime Minister’s XI with the pink ball. After day one of the two-day game being washed out due to the rain. On the second day in Manuka Oval, Canberra, both captains agreed to play a 50-50 over match to get some practice for the Indian team which indeed proved beneficial for the team India. India dominating the comparatively weak PM’s XI, won the match, in the row there are some performances in the match that the Indian team will be excited about.

The Match

The Australian side was the first to bat where they scored a total of 246 runs during their innings. The match had several good performances, Suman Gill scored 50 in 62 balls after coming back from the thumb injury. During his innings, he hit seven boundaries and chose the adaptability needed for the pink ball. Given India's previous record in the pink ball test match, last time when India played the pink volt test match in Adelaide, the Indian team got hit with a bowling storm from the Australian pacers who all out for their lowest score of 36.
During the PM's XI batting, Harshit Rana stormed the batting line by sending 4 batsmen within 6 deliveries in two different overs. That spell shook the batting team. After that PM XI's innings was anchored by Sam Konstas's brilliant 107 off 97 balls, but Rana's breakthrough spell ensured the hosts were restricted to 240.
During India’s batting along with Shubhman’s 50, Yashasvi Jaiswal (45), Nitish Reddy (42), and Washington Sundar (42*) played crucial roles, making valuable contributions in the successful chase. While the team chased the target well before the total overs, the team decided to play for 46 overs to get extra practice.

Preparation for the pink ball test.
Team India got their much-needed practice for the day-night test match. Seeing the previous record team worked harder to change their Pink Ball stats this time. In the last day-night test match during India's tour of Australia 20 21, India faced a bowling nightmare where Josh Hazelwood's spell led India to a historic all-out for 36 runs. However this time the absence of Hazelwood might work in India's favour as he is out of the test match because of the injury.

Fan’s ten years wait
During the match, a fan was displaying a show card with the writing, “Rohit bhai, dus saal ho gaye yaar" (Rohit brother, it's been ten years) which came to Rohit’s notice. Rohit met the fan and fulfilled his ten-year-old desire for an autograph. It's always a heartwarming moment when any fans get to meet its hero after a long wait.

With commendable performances from Gill and Harshit Rana, India is eying to change its Pink ball records, the unavailability of Josh Hazelwood might work in India's favour, but it will be interesting to see how that helps India.
