IND vs AUS Pink Ball Test Day 2 Highlights : Australian Pacers Lead the Charge, India Trails by 29 Runs with 5 Wickets Down
Australia continued their strong comeback in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, taking control of the pink-ball Test in Adelaide on Day 2 with solid performances in both batting and bowling. Travis Head played a big role, scoring a powerful 140 off 141 balls, helping Australia erase their first-innings deficit. Then, the pink ball was used very well by Mitchell Starc and other Australian fast bowlers in the lights, and the Indians were left with a very tough position at the end of the day.
The hopes of a thrilling Super Sunday quickly faded for Indian fans as Rohit Sharma’s team was in danger of losing badly in the pink-ball Test. India finished Day 2 at 128 for 5, still 29 runs behind Australia’s total. Rishabh Pant was still batting, playing some unusual shots, and was joined by rookie all-rounder Nitish Reddy.
The Adelaide Test has been a wake-up call for India after their strong performance in Perth. Poor batting, too much reliance on Jasprit Bumrah, and some lackluster captaincy from Rohit Sharma gave Australia the chance to take control. Pat Cummins and his team appeared more determined, driven by the memory of their first Test defeat, as they put on a nearly perfect performance over the last two days at the Adelaide Oval.
Travis Head Continues to Haunt India on Big Stages
Travis Head’s explosive 141 played a key role in crushing India’s hopes of repeating their Perth heroics. In the first innings of the series opener, India had been bowled out for just 150, but Jasprit Bumrah's brilliant bowling in Perth had rescued them, leading the team to dismiss Australia for just 104 in Rohit's absence.
In Adelaide, India managed a slightly better score of 180 in their first innings, but they had no answer to Head’s brilliant batting. His aggressive 140 off 141 balls wiped out the first-innings deficit and put Australia in a commanding position with a score of 347, giving them a crucial 157-run lead.
Head has now completed a hat-trick of frustrating India on big stages. He first made an impact in the World Test Championship final, then surprised India with his brilliant play in last year’s World Cup final in Ahmedabad. On Saturday in Adelaide, he produced another great performance, almost ending India’s hopes of taking a 2-0 lead in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with a dominant display on his home ground, the Adelaide Oval.
