At only 25, he has already become the leading run-scorer of the tournament. Reports suggest that his performances might soon earn him a place in India’s ODI squad possibly as early as the upcoming tour of Australia. India will be playing three ODIs and five T20Is on that tour and Abhishek could be one of the fresh faces to watch out for.

The three-match ODI series between India and Australia will begin on October 19. According to TOI, Abhishek’s powerful batting has caught the eyes of the selectors and the team management is likely to reward him with an ODI call-up.

Abhishek Sharma has been working hard on both sides of his game.
