ILT20 2025: MI Emirates Strengthen Squad with Wildcard Duo Pollard and Pooran

Before the new ILT20 season, MI Emirates have brought in two West Indies players Kieron Pollard and Nicholas Pooran as wildcard picks for the fourth season. After playing together in Major League Cricket and the last ILT20 season, the two will again join forces for the same team on the global stage. The MI Emirates won the ILT20 title in 2024 under the captaincy of Nicholas Pooran, with Kieron Pollard also part of the team. Their squad is now complete for the new season. With the pre-season about to start, the Emirates will aim to defend their championship title.

Kieron Pollard Extends His Winning Legacy with MI Emirates

MI Emirates have added West Indies star Kieron Pollard, a proven match-winner who continues his long legacy with the Mumbai Indians across global leagues. After shining for MI in the IPL, Pollard now represents them in both the MLC and ILT20. With 18 T20 titles to his name, he is one of the greatest players in the format. 

Joining him is Nicholas Pooran, who led MI Emirates to their first ILT20 title in 2024. Both Pollard and Pooran also guided MI New York to MLC titles in 2023 and 2025 and have been key members of the MI Emirates squad for the past three ILT20 seasons.

Kieron Pollard, one of the greatest T20 all-rounders, has scored over 14,000 runs in leagues around the world. Playing for MI Emirates in the ILT20, he has made 660 runs in 22 matches. He was outstanding in 2022/23 with 394 runs in just 10 games, followed by 84 runs in 2023/24 and 182 runs in the 2024/25 season. Nicholas Pooran has been just as reliable, scoring over 300 runs every season with totals of 355, 354 and 301 runs in his 31 matches so far.

Andre Fletcher Rejoins MI Emirates for Fourth Consecutive Season

MI Emirates made headlines by signing West Indies batter Andre Fletcher for USD 260,000 for the fourth season in a row. They also added English all-rounder Jordan Thompson and fast bowlers Naveen-ul-Haq and Chris Woakes to boost their bowling. Muhammad Rohid was kept using the RTM card for USD 140,000, while Jonny Bairstow joined as a replacement and Kamindu Mendis was signed earlier. Shakib Al Hasan was dropped at the last moment before the auction ended.
