Hyderabad Kingsmen sign Maheesh Theekshana for PSL 11
Debutant Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Hyderabad Kingsmen has signed Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana for the upcoming edition.
Who does he replace?
While the franchise did not confirm which player Theekshana will replace, it is understood that he has come in as a partial replacement for Glenn Maxwell, who was earlier confirmed to be available for a few games.
Theekshana has played across several T20 leagues, most notably including the Indian Premier League (IPL) and SA20, though he will be making his PSL debut.
The 25-year-old spinner was Sri Lanka’s highest wicket-taker during the recent T20 World Cup, where he grabbed 11 wickets in seven games.
Signed without being in player pool?
Interestingly, the Sri Lankan spinner did not sign up for the PSL 2026 auction. His signing comes under a PSL rule that replacement players can be selected from outside the player auction pool.
Theekshana joins fellow Sri Lankan Kusal Perera, who was bought by the team during the auction for PKR 31 million.
Hyderabad will begin their PSL 11 campaign against Lahore Qalandars at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on March 26. The side earlier announced Marnus Labuschagne as its captain, with USA’s Hassan Khan as his deputy.
Updated Hyderabad Kingsmen Squad for PSL 11
