Haris Rauf Injured Ahead of ICC Champions Trophy 2025
Pakistan’s fast bowler Haris Rauf suffered an injury scare during the first ODI of the tri-nation series against New Zealand at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The 30-year-old pacer, who had earlier dismissed New Zealand’s wicketkeeper-batter Tom Latham for a duck, seemed to be in visible discomfort while bowling in the 37th over of the match.
Signs of Discomfort Before Walking Off
Rauf appeared to struggle as he delivered the second ball of the over, placing his hands on his hips and wincing in pain. Without waiting for the team physio to arrive, he made the decision to leave the field, an indication that the discomfort was serious enough to prevent him from continuing.
PCB Confirms Side Strain Injury
The PCB confirmed that Rauf felt a sharp pain in his left chest and abdomen. The medical team first checked the injury and said it was a mild side strain. “He’s receiving treatment, and a decision on his return will be made after reassessment,” the statement read.
Pakistan's team is facing more injuries in the Champions Trophy on February 19. Saim Ayub was ruled out for five weeks due to an injury.
