Hardik Pandya Steals the show in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy's Quarter-Final

In the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy, Baroda has reached the semi-finals with an outstanding bowling performance in the Quarter-Finals against Bengal. In the match, Hardik took three wickets with an economy of 6.75 in four overs.
The Quarter Finals
After winning the toss, Bengal chose to bowl first; with the help of Shashwat Rawat (40) and Abhimanyu Singh Rajput(37), Baroda scored 172. Mohammed Shami had two wickets from the Bengal side. A collapse happened when Bengal came to chase a target of 173 after a steady start of 29 runs in the overs. The team lost four wickets in four runs, making the team's position vulnerable for the semi-finals. After losing four wickets quickly, Shahbaz Ahmed and Ritwik Chaudhary steadied the innings and scored a 50-run partnership; Ritwik scored 29 of 18 balls. The showstopper innings came from Shahbaz Ahmed, who scored 55 off 36, hitting four massive sixes and three boundaries.
But Hardik Pandya came in the 10th over and dismissed Ritwik Choudhary, breaking the crucial partnership after the 85/5 Bengal player tried to resist for a few overs. Still, Pandya struck again in the 16th over, dismissing Bengal batters Sakshaim Chaudhary and Mohammed Shami in the same over. Despite a crucial knock from Shahbaz Ahmed, the other batter didn't support him, as the team got all out in the 18th over. Along with Hardik Pandya, one more bowler shines in the innings, Lukman Meriwala, who also took three wickets in his three overs.
With this win, Baroda has 7 out of 8 matches it played in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy and has now reached the semi-finals; the continued performance from the Pandya brothers and other domestic players in the team, Baroda will try to get to the finals and lift the trophy.

Before the T20 domestic season, Pandya also played an essential role in the ICC T20 World Cup, where India won the trophy for the second time. It is worth noting that Pandya played a crucial role in the finals, where he defended nine runs in the last over of the match and became the nation's hero.
When Hardik was Booed
But in the IPL 2024, things were not that good for Pandya as after being traded from Gujrat Titans to Mumbai Indians, he was made Mumbai Indians' captain, but the decision faced backlash from the fans. Also, he was booed by fans while he was on the ground. Mumbai also didn't perform well in the season and finished in the last position. This is the kind of season that Mumbai would like to forget and make a new start in the IPL 2025.

Under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya and coach Mahela Jaywardhane, Mumbai Indians have created a potent mix of top-order batters and fast bowlers for the season.
