Geoff Allardice to Step Down as ICC CEO Before 2025 Champions Trophy
On Tuesday Australian Geoff Allardice announced his decision to step down as ICC CEO Before the 2025 Champions Trophy.
Geoff Allardice joined in 2012 as General Manager of Cricket, where he worked as the Cricket Operations Manager. He has been the temporary CEO for eight months. Then, in November 2021, he was appointed as ICC CEO.
"It has been an honor to serve as the CEO of the International Cricket Council. I take immense pride in what we have accomplished expanding cricket’s global presence and strengthening the commercial foundation that supports ICC Members," said Allardice in a statement.
After being in charge of the International Cricket Council for 13 years, Geoff Allardice chose to step down. Allardice said "Thank you to the board leaders and the entire cricket system for their support and collaboration. I believe this is a good time for me to step down and find other activities to enjoy. I am sure that cricket has exciting times ahead and I wish the best for the ICC and all the ICC board members".

Jay Shah said, "On behalf of the ICC Control, I extend my sincere gratitude to Geoff for his leadership and dedication during his time as Chief Executive. His contributions have been instrumental in the global growth of cricket. We deeply appreciate his service and wish him the very best for the future".
The ICC Board will now begin the process of selecting a new Chief Executive. The Champions Trophy, eight teams, is set to be held from February 19 to March 9.
