David Moore Set to Part Ways with BCB, Unlikely to Renew Contract

Bangladesh Cricket Board's head ofAprograms, David Moore, will reportedly not extend his tenure beyond the December 31, 2024 deadline due to family reasons. An Australian, Moore was appointed in January 2023 for a two-year tenure. A senior BCB official confirmed the development saying a decision regarding further action would be taken soon.

BCB director Nazmul Abedin confirmed the decision saying, "Yes, he informed us that he will not stay after the end of his tenure." He added that the Board would decide on the next steps when the time comes. It is understood that, in addition to his family commitments, Moore has also received an offer in Sydney.

During his stay with the BCB, Moore was tasked with planning and strategizing on the High-Performance unit and programs for the Bangladesh Tigers, with a goal of contributing to the improvement of the national team through development in the coaching structure. In addition, he was entrusted with supervising the development programs for coaches around the country.

In related news, the BCB has decided to bring back David Hemp as the head of the High-Performance Unit. Hemp, who had been serving as the batting coach for the national team, was released from his duties to take on this new role.
