CSK Targets Young All-Rounders Mohamed Ali and Sonu Yadav for IPL 2026 Auction

CSK Targets Young All-Rounders Mohamed Ali and Sonu Yadav for IPL 2026 Auction

[ Poll: QydEMOL8 ]

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are looking at several Indian players to strengthen their team for the IPL 2026 season. The five-time IPL champions are all set to make a major overhaul at the upcoming IPL 2026 auction in December. Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar is reportedly on the Chennai Super Kings’ radar for the upcoming season.

CSK Eyeing Young Talents Mohamed Ali and Sonu Yadav for IPL 2026

Amidst the buzz over Sundar, the CSK is reportedly keeping a close watch on two young Indian all-rounders ahead of the next IPL season. Mohamed Ali, who can contribute with both the bat and off-spin, has impressed many with his consistent performances in domestic cricket.

CSK has observed Ali's temperament and the way he has handled various situations in-game. Apart from him, the pace-bowling all-rounder Sonu Yadav, who played for RCB earlier in his career, has also been drawn attention to. Throughout Yadav’s preceding matches, his hat trick in the TNPL, specifically, has drawn attention from multiple franchises, including the Chennai Franchise. Therefore, if everything goes to plan, both Mohamed Ali and Sonu Yadav could soon find themself in the yellow jersey for at least IPL 2026, as CSK has previously and will continue to support young and capable all-rounders going forward.

So far, young all-rounder Sonu has played six first-class matches, 11 List-A games, and six T20s. He has scored 123, 82, and 17 runs in those formats. As a bowler, he has taken 20 wickets in first-class matches, 10 in List-A, and 9 in T20s. However, he hasn’t played in the IPL yet.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu’s Mohamed Ali has played 18 matches across formats. The off-spinner has taken 11 wickets in total and has also done well with the bat scoring 327 runs in 9 first-class games, 204 runs in 6 List-A matches, and 46 runs in 3 T20s.
