A strong bowling performance followed by a brilliant innings from Sanju Samson helped Chennai Super Kings win their 5th match, beating Delhi Capitals by 8 wickets with 15 balls left. Opening the innings, Samson remained till the end to steer CSK, decorating the Arun Jaitley Stadium with strokes smashing 7 fours and 6 maximums in his unbeaten match-winning 87 off 52 deliveries.

Earlier in the evening, Axar Patel spun the coin in his favor and elected to bat. Mukesh Choudhary and Akeal Hosein picked up a couple of wickets in the powerplay and put the struggling DC top and middle order under immense pressure. It was thanks to an unbeaten 40 from Sameer Rizvi and a calm 38 from Tristan Stubbs that helped DC to a fighting 155/7.
