BCCI Hikes Base Price for Team India’s Lead Sponsorship Deal; No Sponsor for Asia Cup 2025

BCCI Hikes Base Price for Team India’s Lead Sponsorship Deal; No Sponsor for Asia Cup 2025After inviting bids for a new lead sponsor for Team India, the BCCI has decided to raise the value of the sponsorship deal. As per a Cricbuzz report, the board has fixed the base price at ₹3.5 crore for bilateral matches and around ₹1.5 crore for multi-nation tournaments like those organized by the ICC and ACC.

The new rates are higher than before. Industry sources told Cricbuzz that the earlier sponsorship prices were ₹3.17 crore for bilateral matches and ₹1.12 crore for multilateral games. The change comes as the BCCI searches for a new sponsor after Dream11 stepped away following the government’s new Online Gaming Act, 2025.

With the new pricing, the BCCI is looking to raise the value of Team India’s sponsorship deals. They want at least a 10% jump for bilateral series and around 3% for multi-nation tournaments. The difference makes sense because in bilateral matches, the sponsor’s logo is placed right on the front of the players’ jerseys giving them more visibility. But in ICC and ACC events, the logo is only shown on the sleeves.

The BCCI is looking to sign a sponsor for the next three years, during which Team India is set to play around 130 matches. This stretch also includes major events like the T20 World Cup in 2026 and the ODI World Cup in 2027. With the revised base price, the board could earn more than ₹400 crore and the final number is likely to go even higher.

No Interim Sponsor Likely for Asia Cup 2025

The bidding for Team India’s new lead sponsor will take place on September 16, which means the new partner won’t be in place before the Asia Cup starting on September 9. A senior BCCI official also made it clear that there are almost no chances of having a temporary sponsor in between.

On September 2, the BCCI invited bids for the lead sponsor rights but barred brands linked to gaming, betting, crypto, and tobacco. Other categories like sportswear, banking, beverages, appliances, and insurance are also restricted as they may clash with the board’s existing partners. The search for a new sponsor comes after Dream11 stepped away, following the government’s new Online Gaming Act, 2025, which bans real-money gaming in India.
